Tiger Woods recently had a heartwarming family experience on the golf course in Orlando. During the PNC Championships at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, his 16-year-old daughter, Sam, became his caddie for the first time. This tournament allows former champions to team up with their family members, and for Woods, it was a truly special occasion.

Usually, Woods partners with his 14-year-old son, Charlie, in these tournaments. However, this time it was different, as Sam took on the role of caddie. With joy on her face, she accompanied her father, attended to his golf bag, and even drove him to the next hole in a golf cart.

Expressing his pride after the first round, Woods praised his daughter’s efforts, saying, “Sam was fantastic. This is the first time she’s ever done this, so it couldn’t have been any more special for all of us. For me to have both of my kids inside the ropes like this and participating and playing and being part of the game of golf like this, it couldn’t have been more special for me.”

Woods also appreciated enjoying these moments in a tournament setting, as they often have playful banter during their family golf outings at home. It was a unique experience for Woods to see the interaction between his children and the game in a more formal setting.

While Woods is familiar with being a caddy himself, frequently supporting Charlie in his junior events, he got a taste of his son’s perspective when Charlie hilariously commented on his caddie skills. Charlie revealed that he has to adjust his putts due to his father’s tendency to hook, saying, “For dad as a caddie, his reads are hook-bias, and I don’t hook as much as he does. So all of my putts, I miss right. So, I have to account for that.”

Sam and Charlie are Woods’ children from his previous marriage to Elin Nordegren. Sam made a notable public appearance in March 2022 during her father’s induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame. In her heartfelt speech, she acknowledged the challenges her family faced after her father’s serious car crash and expressed gratitude for his recovery. Sam celebrated Woods’ resilience, recognizing his achievements as the first Black and Asian golfer to win a Major and overcome significant health setbacks.

It warms our hearts to witness the strong bond between Tiger Woods and his children. Their support and admiration for their father are truly inspirational.
