Once upon a time, a fireman was busy working on the engine outside the fire station. As he was focused on his task, he noticed a little girl nearby, playing with a little red wagon. The wagon had little ladders hung off the sides and a garden hose tightly coiled in the middle. What caught the fireman’s attention was that the girl was wearing a fireman’s helmet. It seemed like she had big dreams of becoming a firefighter one day.

Curiosity getting the better of him, the fireman walked over to the little girl to get a closer look at her wagon. He couldn’t help but admire it and said, “That sure is a nice fire engine you have there!”

The little girl beamed with pride and replied, “Thanks!”

Captivated by the girl’s enthusiasm, the fireman took another look at the wagon. That’s when he noticed something peculiar. The wagon was being pulled by her dog and her cat. It was quite a sight to see.

With a smile on his face, the fireman suggested, “Little partner, I don’t want to tell you how to run your rig, but if you tie that rope around the cat’s collar instead of its, um, testicles, I think you could go even faster!”

The little girl pondered over the fireman’s words for a moment and then responded with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, “You’re probably right, but then I wouldn’t have a siren!”

It was a lighthearted encounter that reminded the fireman of the imaginative spirit children possess. It also served as a gentle reminder to embrace our creativity and find joy in the simplest of things, just like the little firewoman and her makeshift fire engine.
