Lucky’s life was far from fortunate. He was passed from one owner to another, none of them willing to give him the love and care he deserved. Despite being born at a puppy factory, no one wanted to adopt him because of his unusual appearance.
For years, Lucky was continually given away, never having the opportunity to settle in a loving home. Each time, he was passed on for free, as nobody wanted to keep him for long. It was clear that Lucky’s journey was plagued by neglect and rejection.
Most recently, Lucky lived with a family in Austin, Texas, but he was left to fend for himself. In order to appease their cats, Lucky had to spend his days and nights outside, tied to a tree, with no proper food or shelter. The idea of receiving love and care in a home seemed like an unattainable dream for Lucky.
When the family decided to move, they didn’t hesitate to get rid of Lucky. They contacted a local dog shelter, who began looking for a new place for him to stay. In the meantime, Lucky was left in the care of his current family until they relocated.
Fortunately, a post on social media changed everything for Lucky. One of the shelter’s volunteers took Lucky to get groomed and posted pictures of him online. These pictures caught the attention of Jamie Hult, who immediately expressed her interest in meeting Lucky.
“It just happened to be somebody in my dog rescue world, so right away I contacted him and said ‘I want that dog. I don’t even want to foster it, I wanna take that dog,’” Jamie explained.
Despite his poor condition from years of neglect, malnutrition, fleas, and worms, Jamie decided to bring Lucky home. She was determined to give him the love and care he had been denied for far too long.
Lucky’s journey to recovery wasn’t an easy one, but thanks to Jamie’s dedication and the help of veterinarians, he made a miraculous turnaround. He made a full recovery and is now living a healthy and happy life.
“People used to laugh at Lucky’s face, but I didn’t care. I started making ties for him to offset his appearance and make him look cuter,” Jamie shared. She even changed his name to Beaux Tox, embracing his unique beauty. “We appreciate beauty in all forms.”
Lucky, now Beaux Tox, is a carefree and affectionate dog. He takes care of his younger sister and has even helped raise kittens that Jamie adopted. Beaux Tox is gentle and curious, finding excitement in everything around him.
