Shocking moment Sydney Sweeney got bitten by a Huntsman spider while filming Anyone But You

Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in Anyone But You, recently had a terrifying encounter while filming a scene for the movie. In a surprising turn of events, she was bitten by a Huntsman spider during a close-up shot.

Romantic comedies are not typically known for their dangerous encounters, but this incident proves otherwise. Instead of using special effects, the filmmakers decided to work with a real spider for authenticity. However, nobody expected the spider to go off-script and bite the actor.

During an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Sweeney shared her horrifying experience and even brought a clip of the attack. She explained that she was supposed to be screaming in the scene, but her screams turned into genuine distress as the spider sank its fangs into her arm.

“They thought I was making really serious, dramatic choices in a rom-com,” Sweeney recalled. “So no one cut.” The crew continued to film, unaware of the danger she was in. It was only when her co-star, Glen Powell, noticed something was wrong that the situation was brought to their attention.

The incident had to be documented by a medic on set, who humorously wrote, “Sydney Sweeney… bitten by Spider, now Spiderwoman.” Little did they know that Sweeney would be playing the role of Madame Web in an upcoming Marvel superhero film, adding an unexpected twist to the report.

Despite the scare, Sweeney and Powell managed to finish the scene. However, it’s safe to say that both actors had some close calls during the filming of Anyone But You. Powell, in a separate incident, even had to strip off his shorts to remove the spider.

With a bit of luck and a lot of courage, the actors persevered and completed the movie. Sydney Sweeney’s encounter with the Huntsman spider will surely be a memorable story to tell in the future.
