Once upon a time, there was a little girl who received a strange phone call. On the other end of the line, a voice claimed to be her daddy. Curious, the girl listened attentively as the voice asked if mommy was nearby.

“No, daddy,” she replied, “Mommy is upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Paul.”

There was a momentary pause on the line, and then her so-called daddy said, “But honey, you don’t have an Uncle Paul.” Confident in her response, the little girl insisted, “Oh yes, I do, and he’s upstairs in the room with mommy right now.”

Another brief pause followed. “Uh, okay,” the voice finally responded, “then I want you to put the phone down and run upstairs. Knock on the door and shout to mommy that daddy’s car just pulled up.”

“Okay, daddy, just a minute,” the little girl agreed and hurriedly made her way upstairs. A few minutes later, she returned to the phone, excited to share what happened.

“I did it, daddy,” she exclaimed.

“And what happened, honey?” her so-called daddy asked.

“Well, mommy got scared, jumped out of bed naked, and ran around screaming. She tripped on the rug, hit her head on the dresser, and now she isn’t moving at all!” the little girl revealed, filled with a mix of worry and surprise.

“OMG! What about your Uncle Paul?” her so-called daddy inquired.

“He jumped out of the back window into the pool,” the little girl replied. “But I guess he didn’t know you took out the water last week to clean it. He hit the bottom of it, and I think he’s dead!”

There was a long pause on the line. Finally, her so-called daddy spoke, his voice filled with confusion. “Swimming pool? Is this 486-5732?” he asked.

The little girl giggled and replied, “No, I think you have the wrong number.”

Even though phone calls can sometimes turn into amusing stories, it’s important to ensure we have the right number before jumping into any conclusions.
