There’s something truly magical about weddings that can bring tears of joy to everyone involved. Four-year-old Gage experienced this firsthand when his father, US Marine Corps sergeant Joshua Newville, married Senior Airman Emily Leehan in Ripley, New York a few years ago.

Gage was doing a great job of holding back his emotions until Emily started reading vows she had written specifically for him. As she delivered her heartfelt words, the floodgates opened, and Gage couldn’t hold back his tears any longer.

It was a proud moment for little Gage, standing by his father’s side as he exchanged vows with his new wife. Unbeknownst to him, Emily had prepared a special set of vows just for him. As she began to speak, the emotions overwhelmed Gage, and he couldn’t help but break down.

The entire audience couldn’t help but say “awwww” as Emily tried to console Gage. “Don’t cry, baby,” she said, understanding the overwhelming emotions that had taken over him. She continued her vows, telling Gage that he is a special boy, smart, handsome, and kind to others. She expressed how he had helped shape her into the woman she is today, and how grateful she is to have him in her life.

Not surprisingly, both Emily and Joshua shed their own tears as they finished their vows. But it was Gage who truly stole the show, with his adorable suit and teary eyes capturing hearts around the world.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds, Emily and Joshua, had to return to their duties as they were on active duty in the military. They couldn’t immediately set off for their honeymoon and instead started their married life at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

Despite the delay, their wedding ceremony was truly memorable. Watch the heartwarming video of Gage hearing Emily’s vows below. But be warned, you might need a tissue or two.

This beautiful ceremony serves as a poignant reminder of the power of love. We wish Joshua and Emily a lifetime of happiness together.
