Hannah Spearritt, a former member of the popular group S Club 7, was a superstar in the 1990s. However, at forty-one years old, she finds herself in a difficult situation – she is homeless. Contrary to popular belief, she is not a millionaire, and after losing her home around Christmastime, she was forced to move into an office with her two young children.

Hannah, along with her daughters Tea (4 years old) and Tora (2 years old), and their fitness instructor father, Adam Thomas, are currently living paycheck to paycheck without a permanent home. Last year, they were unable to secure a new place to live after their London rental was abruptly sold. Since then, they have been moving from one temporary home to another, and now they find themselves living in an office owned by a friend.

Describing their situation, Hannah shares, “The kids’ beds were there, and we had the crayons out. It was stressful. Our landlord needed the money, and the property sold so fast. We ended up with under two days to leave. What screwed us is we didn’t have time to find another place. We had somewhere over Christmas but ran out of time before we could move in. It was just a couple of weeks. We filled the unopened café with our belongings – we were so lucky to have that storage space – but had nowhere to go.”

Despite being a member of S Club 7, a group that earned over $60 million, Hannah has nothing now and has had to explain to her daughter that she has let them down. The reality is that Hannah and her bandmates did not become millionaires like many people assume. During her time with the band, she was paid £150,000 per year, a modest wage compared to the massive profits made by the group’s brand.

Hannah reflects on her time with the band, saying, “It is what it is.” She enjoyed her experience and even reunited with S Club 7 for an arena tour in 2015. However, it is unclear how much money she made from those performances. Last summer, Hannah had plans to open a café, but unfortunately, her business venture failed due to personal reasons.

It’s a challenging time for Hannah Spearritt and her family, but they are doing their best to stay positive and navigate through these difficult circumstances. With resilience and determination, they hope to overcome their current situation and secure stable housing for their family.
