A highly anticipated biopic chronicling the life of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is currently in development. What makes this production even more intriguing is the choice of actor set to portray the iconic singer – none other than Michael Jackson’s nephew himself.

Jaafar Jackson, son of Jermaine Jackson and a member of the renowned Jackson 5, has been cast in the role of his late uncle. Born into a family of musical legends, Jaafar initially had dreams of becoming a professional golfer. However, his family’s deep-rooted connection to the entertainment industry proved to be too strong to resist.

At just 27 years old, Jaafar is not only a talented musician, but also an actor with a passion for the arts. His diverse musical taste ranges from film scores to legendary artists such as Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Nat King Cole, and Johnny Mathis.

Jaafar began his career at the tender age of 12, showcasing his impressive piano skills and gaining invaluable insights into the music industry. In 2017, he made his modeling debut and had the privilege of performing alongside his father and brother, Jermajesty, at the MAX Proms event in the Netherlands. Their live rendition of “The Christmas Song” was accompanied by the prestigious Metropole Orchestra.

Although Jaafar and Jermajesty had initially considered forming a music group together, they eventually embarked on their own individual creative paths. In 2018, Jaafar made his solo debut at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, delivering a captivating performance that included four original songs: “You’re The One,” “Take Control,” “Hurricane,” and “Stir Me Up.”

The world caught a glimpse of Jaafar’s unique sound when he released his debut single, “Got Me Singing,” in 2019. This Caribbean-infused track with playful lyrics quickly gained traction, amassing an impressive 9 million views on YouTube to date.

With his exceptional talents as both a musician and actor, Jaafar Jackson is indeed a fitting choice to portray the legendary Michael Jackson in the upcoming biopic. Not only does his familial connection add depth to the portrayal, but it also highlights the continuation of the Jackson musical legacy on the big screen.
