Tesla’s upcoming Cybertruck has been a topic of heated debate among car enthusiasts. Its unique design is either seen as futuristic or unnerving, depending on who you ask. However, one man who had reserved a Cybertruck for himself recently had the opportunity to see the vehicle up close at a Tesla showroom in San Jose, California. Alistair Barr, after examining the car, was immediately struck by a surprising feature.

While there are various aspects of the Cybertruck that set it apart from traditional cars, such as its robust crumple zone, what truly stands out is its sheer size. Even though the design has been slightly modified from its prototype models to be more compact, the Cybertruck remains longer than the already massive Ford F-150. The high-spec model, aptly named the ‘Cyberbeast’, boasts a curb weight of almost three and a half tons. Combine that with a top speed of 112mph and a body made of tough stainless steel, which gives the truck its distinct angular appearance, and you have an incredibly substantial and heavy vehicle.

However, the exorbitant size and weight of the Cybertruck have raised concerns among car safety experts. Adrian Lund, the former president of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), pointed out the issue of the vehicle’s stainless steel body, stating, “The big problem there is if they really make the skin of the vehicle very stiff by using thick stainless steel, then when people hit their heads on it, it’s going to cause more damage to them.” Additionally, the European Transport Safety Council expressed worry about the potential dangers the Cybertruck poses to pedestrians and cyclists due to its size and power.

Despite the divided opinions and safety concerns, the Cybertruck continues to captivate attention. Some people are enamored by its design, while others remain unconvinced.
