In an interview with PEOPLE, Leslie shared, “It wasn’t as difficult as I anticipated. I believe the reason is that Grahame was not a white American man.” Nevertheless, the hate mail served as a reminder that prejudice still existed.

Together, they built a beautiful family and raised two daughters, Danielle and Justice, and have been blessed with a granddaughter named Cassidy.
