In a recent interview with People, Kelly Clarkson, 41, addresses her dramatic weight loss and shares the secrets behind her transformation. The American Idol alum revealed her new look, including a bold hairstyle, during an episode of her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Clarkson, who recently relocated her show from Los Angeles to New York City, credits her weight loss to a combination of factors. She explains, “Walking in the city is quite the workout. I’m really into infrared saunas right now. And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down.”

Previously, Clarkson had spoken about her journey with dieting to manage thyroid and autoimmune issues, during which she lost 37 pounds. However, she now states that she is simply following her doctor’s recommendations for a healthier lifestyle.

“I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor – a couple of years I didn’t,” Clarkson shares. “And 90% of the time, I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat – sorry, vegetarians in the world!”

Clarkson’s openness about her weight loss journey serves as an inspiration to many individuals who may be struggling with their own weight management goals. Her approach, which focuses on finding activities she enjoys, such as walking in the city, and incorporating physician-approved methods, sets a positive example for her fans.
