Jennifer Garner made a decision to save her family’s history

Jennifer Garner, known for her relatability and down-to-earth nature, has captured the hearts of many as she shares her journey of motherhood and life on her Instagram account. But there is more to Jennifer than just being a celebrity. She also holds a deep appreciation for her family’s history and has made a remarkable decision to preserve it.

Meet Patricia English Garner, Jennifer Garner’s mother. Patricia fondly remembers her childhood on a farm in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. She recalls the moment her parents purchased the land back in 1936, using a bonus her father had received from his service in World War I. With only $700 to their name, Patricia’s parents, without a car of their own, had to hire someone to drive them to the property.

“My parents didn’t even have a car, so when they heard about the land that was for sale, they hired someone to take them there. The farm consisted of a two-room house and 20 acres, with the exception of 1 acre at the center of the property, which served as a Native American cemetery,” Patricia reminisces.

Her father, a veteran, tirelessly negotiated over $20 the whole day before reaching an agreement on the price. From that moment on, the land became a cherished part of their family’s legacy. However, as time went on and family members grew up and moved away, ownership of the farm shifted among different relatives, being bought and sold repeatedly.

In 2017, Jennifer Garner decided to take matters into her own hands and purchased the farm. But she didn’t stop there. She envisioned turning the farm into a thriving business once again, honoring her family’s farming roots and memories. Jennifer enlisted the help of her uncle Robert and aunt Janet, who had previously owned the farm, to assist her in this endeavor.

The farm had been left unattended for 40 years, but Jennifer was determined to revive it. She founded “Once Upon a Farm” alongside co-founders Ari Raz, John Foraker, and Cassandra Curtis, with the goal of growing organic fruits and vegetables to create nutritious food for children. Once Upon a Farm blended local farmer’s produce with love, providing parents with convenient and wholesome meals for their little ones.

“For a long time, we dreamed of bringing baby food back to its origins, using organic fruits and veggies harvested from local farmers, blended with love, and served fresh from the fridge. We dreamt of reducing the stress of mealtimes by providing our children with foods that offer all the necessary nutrients—and more!” Jennifer expressed.

Since its launch in 2018, Once Upon a Farm has experienced tremendous success. Their products can be found in major retailers across America and are available for purchase on their website. Jennifer’s dedication to not only preserving her family’s history but also transforming it into a profitable venture is truly heartwarming.
