Glen Powell ‘almost died’ filming Anyone But You x-rated scene with Sydney Sweeney

Glen Powell, known for his roles in various movies, had a close call while filming his latest rom-com, “Anyone But You.” In a daring scene, Powell’s character had to have a large spider pulled out from inside his shorts by Sydney Sweeney’s character. Little did Powell know that this scene would almost cost him his life.

The situation unfolded on the side of a cliff, where Powell had to quickly strip off his clothes. “Taking your clothes off on the side of a cliff in a hurry is not safe either,” Powell explained. “Nobody talks about that safety issue on set, where I almost died falling off a cliff taking my pants off too fast.”

Despite the danger, Powell embraced the scene and admitted, “You just have to grip it and rip it on a scene like that. You know you’re not going to leave that filming day looking cool, so you just have to embrace it.”

Fortunately, Powell’s quick strip didn’t result in a fall off the cliff, and he can now look back on the moment with fondness. “It’s a really fun scene, so it was all worth it,” he said, relieved to have survived the near-death experience.

Interestingly, Powell wasn’t the only one facing a troubling situation during the filming of “Anyone But You.” Sweeney herself was bitten by the spider used in the scene. “There’s the spider itself, which actually bit me, and that was a whole thing,” Sweeney recalled. “And then we have the part of Glen bending over and me checking to see if there are more spiders.”

Despite the challenges and close calls, the two actors managed to get through the scene unscathed. Powell and Sweeney showed their dedication to their craft by pushing through these unexpected obstacles.

With the movie set to be released on December 22, audiences can witness this daring scene for themselves. So, if you’re a fan of Glen Powell or simply enjoy a good romantic comedy, make sure to watch “Anyone But You” and appreciate the artistry that goes into creating these memorable moments on-screen.
