Ingredients
- 6 slices of bacon
- 1 large head cabbage, core removed and sliced
- 2 minced cloves of garlic
- 1 large diced onion
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
- Optional: carrots
Instructions
- In a large skillet, fry the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and place it on paper towels to drain. Crumble the bacon.
- In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the garlic and onion. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until tender.
- Add the cabbage to the skillet and continue to cook for another ten minutes or until softened.
- Sprinkle the bacon crumbles on top and add 1/3 cup of water. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Stir to mix everything together, then reduce the heat and cook for a few more minutes until the liquid has evaporated, stirring occasionally.
- Taste the cabbage and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Serve immediately.
