Ingredients

  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1 large head cabbage, core removed and sliced
  • 2 minced cloves of garlic
  • 1 large diced onion
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
  • Optional: carrots

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, fry the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and place it on paper towels to drain. Crumble the bacon.
  2. In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the garlic and onion. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until tender.
  3. Add the cabbage to the skillet and continue to cook for another ten minutes or until softened.
  4. Sprinkle the bacon crumbles on top and add 1/3 cup of water. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika.
  5. Stir to mix everything together, then reduce the heat and cook for a few more minutes until the liquid has evaporated, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste the cabbage and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  7. Serve immediately.
