In recent news, Elijah Blue Allman, the son of music icon Cher, had his request to dismiss his divorce denied due to ongoing substance abuse issues. This ruling comes at a time when Elijah is also facing a conservatorship matter with his mother.

Elijah initially filed for divorce from his wife of eight years, Marieangela King, three years ago. However, he recently filed for the dismissal of the divorce despite Marieangela’s claims that she had not seen him since last April. She also mentioned that they had agreed to work on their marital issues in the past.

Marieangela alleged Cher’s interference in their attempts to reconcile, stating that the singer continued to interfere with Elijah’s health management, location, and accessibility.

In response to the divorce dismissal request, Elijah’s estranged wife requested that he pay her legal fees, continue providing spousal support, and pay an outstanding amount of $40,000. She cited Elijah’s lack of effort in reconciliation as grounds for her request.

This denial of divorce dismissal comes shortly after a judge denied Cher’s conservatorship petition on January 5. Another hearing on the conservatorship matter is scheduled for January 29.

In her filing, Cher expressed concerns about Elijah’s ability to care for himself and manage his finances responsibly. She mentioned that any funds given to him would likely be spent on drugs, leaving him with no assets to provide for himself and putting his life at risk.

While Elijah has admitted to past struggles with addiction, he appeared before the court to assert that he is currently sober. He stated that he is attending AA meetings, willing to undergo future drug tests, and committed to maintaining his sobriety.

The ongoing legal battles highlight the complex and challenging situation for Cher and her son. It serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing substance abuse issues and providing the necessary support for individuals facing such difficulties.
