The world of entertainment is in mourning after the passing of the great Bob Barker, who died at the remarkable age of 99. The legendary TV host’s death was confirmed on Saturday, with reports stating that he passed away from natural causes.

Unlike many high-profile figures, Bob Barker will not have a traditional funeral or memorial service. Instead, in accordance with his wishes, he will be laid to rest beside his late wife, Dorothy Jo Gideon, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills.

Born in 1923, Bob Barker moved to California in 1950 to pursue a career in broadcasting. Over the years, he hosted various game shows and served as the host of the Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants from 1967 to 1987. However, it was in 1982 that he achieved his big break with The Price is Right. The show became a massive hit and propelled Barker to fame in the US. He would remain the host of the beloved show, one of the longest-running game shows in TV history, until 2007. Although he retired in 2015, he made several notable appearances afterwards.

Bob Barker’s love story with his late wife, Dorothy Jo Gideon, is also touching. After meeting in high school, they were married for 35 years until her death from lung cancer in 1981. Bob once shared a special memory of his wife, stating, “She reached into the deck and pulled out the 10 of spades and she said, ‘Here, this will be your luck.’ And I’ve had this for 60 years and on the other side is Dorothy Jo.”

Bob Barker leaves behind a legacy in the world of television, one that has touched the lives of many. His contributions to the entertainment industry will always be cherished and remembered.
