AC/DC's drummer Colin Burgess dies aged 77

The music world mourns the loss of Colin Burgess, the original drummer of the iconic rock band AC/DC. Burgess, aged 77, passed away, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be remembered.

AC/DC took to their social media platforms to share the sad news with their fans. While the cause of death has not been disclosed, the band’s heartfelt tribute to Burgess speaks volumes about his talent and contributions.

Before joining AC/DC, Burgess played in various bands alongside his brother, Denny. He then became the drummer for the pop rock band The Masters Apprentices from 1968 to 1972, which was honored with induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

In 1973, Burgess joined AC/DC as their first drummer, alongside Angus Young on lead guitar, Dave Evans on lead vocals, Larry Van Kriedt on bass guitar, and Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar. Although Burgess left the band in 1974, he briefly returned in 1975 for another stint.

AC/DC, currently composed of Angus Young, vocalist Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams on bass, drummer Phil Rudd, and rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, paid tribute to Burgess on their social media platforms. They expressed their sadness and described him as their first drummer and a highly respected musician. The band cherished the memories they shared with Burgess and wished him to rock in peace.
