For parents-to-be, capturing the joy and excitement of starting a new family is a wonderful experience. One way to do this is by taking pictures of the expectant mother’s baby bump and documenting the pregnancy journey. These maternity pictures become precious memories that couples can cherish for the rest of their lives.
Dad-to-be, Dan Mozer, had an idea to make their maternity photos even more special. He suggested going to Atlantic Beach in Jacksonville, Florida, a local favorite known for its picturesque views and relaxing ambiance. Little did they know that this trip would result in a picture of a lifetime.
With a big smile on her face, Angelina, Dan’s wife, stood in front of the ocean waves, proudly showing off her baby bump. As Dan snapped the picture, he couldn’t believe his eyes. In the background, a dolphin had leaped out of the water at the perfect moment!
Dan had known that dolphins frequented the area, but he never expected to capture one jumping in the background of a photo of his pregnant wife. “When I took it, I was like, ‘Oh, my God!’ Unfortunately, she totally missed it,” Dan shared.
The couple jokingly credit their son, Courtland, who was born on January 27th, for summoning the dolphin from his mother’s belly. They find humor in the idea that their son had a special connection with the dolphins.
Dan recalled the magical moment, saying, “Someone started yelling to us that there were dolphins, and we could see their dorsal fins. Then, out of nowhere, this thing just jumps out of the water.” The dolphin actually jumped twice, but Dan preferred the first jump picture as it captured the essence of the moment.
While Courtland seems to have a unique bond with dolphins, Dan and Angelina have no plans of changing their son’s name to “Dolph Finn.” They cherish the extraordinary picture, but they are also aware that it was a fortunate and unexpected coincidence.
