Meet Buster, a resilient stray dog who has defied all odds and is now on the hunt for a forever home. Earlier this year, Buster was tragically hit by a car in the Bahamas, which left him paralyzed and in critical condition. But his incredible will to survive and the commitment of Florida Urgent Rescue (FUR) have changed the course of his life.
After the hit-and-run incident, Buster could only drag himself along the pavement in search of safety. For weeks, he endured the pain and suffering, with raw and bloody kneecaps and severe infections. Sadly, most people passed by without even noticing his desperate plight.
Thankfully, a local rescue group recognized his dire situation and stepped in to help. Buster needed immediate medical attention, but there were no orthopedic specialists available to assist him in the Bahamas. Without wasting any time, he was swiftly transported to Florida for emergency care by the compassionate team at FUR.
Upon arriving at FUR, Buster received top-notch care and treatments. Despite being diagnosed with a severe spinal injury causing rear-end paralysis, Buster’s resilience and determination soon became evident. Although surgery was not an option for him, electro-acupuncture sessions were implemented to stimulate his nerves. And guess what? They are showing signs of progress! There is hope that Buster will eventually regain the ability to walk on his own.
In the meantime, Buster has been getting around with the help of a wheelchair kindly provided by Walkin’ Pets. And it seems like he’s loving every moment of it! FUR reports that Buster is becoming more comfortable and confident with each passing day. Despite his previous hardships, his life has taken a turn for the better. Buster now enjoys plenty of attention, never goes hungry, and receives an abundance of love from his foster family.
