She further explained that while she hadn’t specifically discussed her departure with Bryan and Richie, they were aware that she had been in the studio and working on something new.

Since joining American Idol in its revival season in 2018, Perry has been a beloved and charismatic presence on the show. Her departure will undoubtedly leave a void, but it also brings excitement for what lies ahead.

“I love the show so much, but I want to go and see the world and maybe bring new music,” Perry shared.
