Leslie recalled receiving anonymous letters during her tours in the United States, reminding her of the prejudice that still existed.
But Leslie and Grahame persevered. Grahame became Leslie’s manager, and together they built a life filled with love and success. They welcomed two daughters, Danielle in 1970 and Justice in 1976. Leslie continued to flourish in her career, earning Emmy nominations for her performances in miniseries like “Roots” and “Backstairs at the White House.”
