12-year-old Taylor Smith had dreams like any other teenager – she wanted to go to college, travel the world, and make friends. She cherished her time with family and enjoyed watching “Doctor Who”. In April 2013, Taylor wrote a letter to her future self with big plans and sealed it inside a box in her room, to be opened on April 12, 2023. Little did she know that she wouldn’t live to see her dreams come true.

Tragically, Taylor passed away from pneumonia just months after writing the letter, leaving her parents, Tim and Mary Ellen Smith, devastated. While sorting through her belongings, they stumbled upon the letter – a poignant reminder of their beloved daughter. Touched by its contents, they decided to share it online, giving solace to others who have experienced loss.

In the letter, Taylor reflects on her life and asks herself questions about her accomplishments and relationship with God. She encourages her future self to never stop trying and to pursue her dreams, no matter the obstacles. She even takes a moment to mention her little sister’s 11th birthday and a recent mission trip she took. Taylor’s message is filled with love, faith, and a zest for life.

Reading Taylor’s words, her mother, Mary Ellen, wrote, “I can’t physically resurrect her, I can’t bring her back, but I’m so grateful people have been inspired by her story.” Taylor’s letter serves as a poignant reminder to cherish every moment, hold onto faith, and keep pursuing our dreams.

If these beautiful words touched your heart as much as they touched ours, please share Taylor’s story in her memory. Let’s honor the spirit of this young angel who left us too soon.
