Despite their breakup, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continue to prioritize their roles as parents to their six incredible children. It all began in 2002 when Jolie became a mother for the first time by adopting 21-year-old Maddox Chivan from a Cambodian orphanage. Just three years later, 18-year-old Zahara Marley, originally from Ethiopia, joined the family.

Pitt, recognizing the special bond between Jolie and her kids, also decided to adopt Maddox and Zahara. This decision was just the beginning of their journey to creating a loving and unique family. They wanted to provide a nurturing environment for their children, which resulted in the expansion of their family.

In 2006, Jolie and Pitt welcomed their biological daughter, 17-year-old Shiloh Nouvel, into the world. Around the same time, they were also finalizing the adoption of their 19-year-old son, Pax Thien, from Vietnam. Their family continued to grow in 2008 with the arrival of their 15-year-old twins, Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon.

Jolie firmly believes that her children have greatly benefited from their multicultural upbringing and being part of a large family. This exposure has had an overwhelmingly positive effect on their lives. In her own words, “They’re pretty great people and because there’s so many of them, I think they’ve had a very significant effect on each other. It’s not like I’m the head of anything. I’m very honest with my kids. And I’m very human with my kids.”
