Sad news about Melanie Griffith, one of the 1980s’ most beloved actresses -

Melanie Griffith, the talented actress known for her role in Working Girl, has recently been photographed with a noticeable mark on her cheek. While there hasn’t been any official comment from Melanie, a source close to her revealed concerns about a possible recurrence of skin cancer, a disease she has dealt with before.

Melanie, who is 65 years old, has undergone multiple skin cancer surgeries since 2009. In fact, five years ago, she was seen with a bandage on her nose after a procedure to remove a potential malignant growth. Dr. Gabe Mirkin, an expert in the field, explained that the likelihood of the recent operation being related to skin cancer is high.

Basal cell skin cancers, the most common type, are typically curable and account for 95% of cases. When the disease is in its early stages, a surgeon can easily remove the growths from the surface. However, if the cancer is located around sensitive areas like the ears, nose, eyes, or mouth, it may require additional surgery.

Dr. Mirkin further explained that the norm in such cases is to continue making incisions until there are no more cancerous cells in the specimens that have been taken. This can make the operation quite lengthy. Squamous cell carcinomas, another type of skin cancer that is less common, can also require extensive surgery due to its rarity.

Melanie has been an advocate for sun protection and has previously advised her followers to be extremely cautious when spending time in the sun. She encourages the use of sunscreen and emphasizes the importance of regular dermatologist appointments.

Despite these recent health concerns, it’s important to remember Melanie’s accomplishments as an actress and her role as a mother to her three children, including actresses Dakota Johnson and Stella Banderas.

Our thoughts are with Melanie during this time, and we hope for her swift recovery.
