Prayers are sent for “Duck Dynasty” star Uncle Si Robertson - Daily Stories

Overcoming Obstacles Together

Famous stars of “Duck Dynasty,” Jase and Missy Robertson, share their optimism as their daughter, Mia, nears the end of her challenging journey to correct her cleft lip and palate. After undergoing her 14th surgery last month, the 18-year-old is now recovering at home.
Since Mia’s birth in 2004, the Robertson family has faced the difficult task of constant hospital visits and numerous surgeries.

An Update on Mia’s Progress

During a recent episode of their podcast “Unashamed,” Jase Robertson, along with his father Phil and brother Alan, updated listeners on Mia’s health. Jase expressed his gratitude for the prayers, saying, “She’s turned a corner. Everything seems great, seems to be fine.” He emphasized Mia’s strength, calling her a champion.
Missy Robertson took to Instagram to share her concerns about Mia’s surgeries. She expressed the uncertainty surrounding the number of surgeries Mia would need, saying, “The answer is always, ‘We just don’t know.’”
However, Mia herself remained positive in her social media post, suggesting that she was nearing the end of her journey.

Taking Charge of Her Health

Since her 13th operation in spring 2021, Mia has been making her own decisions about her treatments, something that her mother is still adjusting to. Missy admitted, “Since she is 18 now, she is taking the lead in all the discussions and medical forms. It’s been a little strange.”
Despite the challenges, the Robertsons, who are parents to three biological and one adopted child, believe that their daughter’s health struggles have a greater purpose.

Finding Meaning in the Journey

In an interview with The Christian Post, Missy shared, “Looking back, especially over the last couple of years, we definitely see reasons for Him allowing us to go through this and allowing Mia to go through the pain and challenges in her life.”
Missy praised Mia’s desire to help others and her strong sense of individuality. According to Missy, this showcases the greatness of their God, who saw something in Mia even before her birth that could inspire people and bring them closer to Him.

Raising Awareness and Providing Support

Born with a mission, Mia established the Mia Moo Fund to bring happiness to all children affected by cleft lip and palate.
These birth defects occur when the lips and roof of the mouth do not fuse correctly during pregnancy. Approximately one in 1,600 babies in the US are born with both a cleft lip and palate, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Mia Moo Fund aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by cleft lip and palate patients and provide financial support for affected families in America, as explained by Missy Robertson.
