Channeling the Legends

Throughout history, there have been iconic superstars whose talent and influence are simply unmatched. From The Beatles to Madonna, Frank Sinatra to Michael Jackson, and, of course, Elvis Presley, their music has stood the test of time and remains just as popular today as it was when it was first released.

It’s no wonder that aspiring musicians often try to imitate and cover the songs of these legendary artists. After all, learning from the best is a smart strategy for honing your craft. However, successfully performing a song in the same league as these music legends is no easy task.

Now, imagine taking on such a challenge and performing it live on stage, in front of a massive audience. It sounds daunting, doesn’t it?

Rising to the Challenge

Well, that’s exactly what 16-year-old Benedikt Köstler from Germany did. He appeared on the German edition of the popular show The Voice and decided to showcase his skills by performing the timeless classic, “Always On My Mind,” originally sung by the late, great Elvis Presley.

A Star is Born

Benedikt’s rendition of the song left the judges in awe, and all five of them hit their buzzers to turn around and witness his incredible performance. The young talent paid homage to one of the biggest musical icons in history, dazzling everyone with his vocal range and stage presence.

The King may no longer be with us, but thanks to performers like Benedikt, his legacy will continue to live on.
