Netflix drops first trailer for new Eddie Murphy Beverly Hills Cop movie

Good news for fans of the classic Beverly Hills Cop movies! Eddie Murphy is back in action as Axel Foley in the highly anticipated new instalment, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, set to hit Netflix next year.

It has been nearly four decades since the first Beverly Hills Cop movie wowed audiences, and now, Murphy is ready to reprise his iconic role. The recently released trailer for the film proves that Murphy has only improved with age, bringing his trademark humor and charm into a new era.

In Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Foley, the street-smart Detroit officer, finds himself facing a fresh case in the glamorous streets of Beverly Hills. Alongside Murphy, the movie will feature some familiar faces from the original cast, as well as intriguing new additions. And as Tudum reports, we can even expect the introduction of a surprising family member.

While Murphy’s presence alone guarantees a laugh-out-loud experience, director Mark Molloy reveals that some of the most hilarious moments in the film come from his improvisation. “Some of the funniest moments in Axel F are when Eddie’s improvising,” Molloy says. “He’s truly in his element, and it was my job to create the right environment and assemble the perfect cast to let Eddie shine.”

Jerry Bruckheimer, the movie’s producer, also praises Murphy’s extraordinary talent as an actor. “Eddie is an incredible artist,” Bruckheimer exclaims. “He seamlessly transitions between drama and comedy with ease. Being Axel Foley comes naturally to him. He’s still hitting the streets, doing what he does best, and he’s got that mischievous spark in his eyes.”

As of now, Netflix has not announced an official release date for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, but fans can expect the much-anticipated film to arrive sometime in 2024. Stay tuned for more updates!
