Life has its own way of throwing unexpected situations at us, and sometimes we are faced with unimaginably tough decisions. When 36-year-old Christina Fisher from Florida found out she was pregnant, her circumstances were far from ideal. In dire financial straits and facing eviction, Christina knew that giving her child a fair chance at a good life would be difficult.
With a heavy heart, she made the courageous decision to put her baby up for adoption. However, when little Abigail was born, everything changed. The family who had promised to adopt her suddenly had a change of heart. Simply upon seeing Abigail’s beautiful face, they turned around and left the hospital, leaving Christina bewildered and abandoned.

Christina had hoped that all her ultrasounds showing her baby’s normal development would have prepared her for a different outcome. But as soon as Abigail Lynn entered the world in January 2016, both Christina and the doctors noticed that she looked different from the other newborns in the maternity ward. Abigail was diagnosed with Treacher Collins syndrome, a rare genetic disease that affects facial symmetry and can cause respiratory and eye problems.
Despite the diagnosis, Christina’s love for her daughter remained unwavering. She saw nothing but beauty in Abigail. However, not everyone felt the same way. The adoptive family turned their backs on Abigail because of her condition.

Seeing this unexpected turn of events as a sign, Christina decided to make a life-changing decision. She scrapped her adoption plans and made a pledge to raise Abigail on her own. Determined to capture the beauty of their bond, Christina enlisted the help of a photographer to take stunning pictures of her and her daughter.
Moved by their story, Christina shared the photos and Abigail’s incredible journey on social media. She also set up a GoFundMe campaign, receiving an outpouring of support from nearly 600 kind-hearted individuals who donated around $22,000. This extraordinary generosity has allowed Christina to provide Abigail with a solid start in life.
This heartwarming story highlights the incredible power of unity and compassion. It’s a reminder that we shouldn’t give up on a child just because they are different or facing challenges. We, as humans, have the ability to come together and make a difference. Fate seemed to have intervened, guiding Christina towards keeping her precious daughter, a decision no parent dreams of having to make.
